ALL-STAR THEO RATLIFF DONATES 12K BOTTLES OF HIS SIGNATURE
SPORTS DRINK REBOUND FX™ TO HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS
SAN
DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - NBA All-star Theo
Ratliff, Youngevity and the World Basketball Association (WBA) announced
today the shipment of twelve thousand donated 16 oz. bottles of Ratliff’s
ready-to-drink signature sports drink, Rebound fx™ Tropical Tirade
to the disaster relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Working
with Councilman Bill Stallworth, 9,600 sports drinks were delivered
on September 10th to two Biloxi, MS churches where they were distributed
to those affected by the hurricane.
An
additional 1,200 bottles were distributed to the World Changers Church
International on September 9th and another 1,200 bottles will be delivered
September 15th to the Hosea Feed The Hungry in Atlanta, GA. Both organizations
are providing assistance for victims who have been relocated to Atlanta
.
“I
come from a small town in the south, so after seeing the devastation
and destruction from the hurricane, it touched my heart,” says
Ratliff. “So many people were without food, nutrition or vitamins.
We thought it would be a good idea to not only give money, but to give
this drink Rebound fx™ that was formulated for me to promote a
healthy lifestyle. Rebound will give them the nourishment and energy
that they are not getting right now.”
This
donation was made possible by Theo Ratliff, Youngevity (the makers of
Rebound fx™), Mike Glenn (Commissioner of the WBA) and Phil Oliver
(Health Advisor of the WBA). All parties included have ties with the
Biloxi, MS area, as that is where the WBA has a professional team, the
Gulf Coast Bandits . Dove Mailing
Company provided the transportation of the 10 pallets.
Rebound
fx™ is a high energy drink that offers a balance of antioxidants,
natural herbs and important minerals without excessive amounts of sugar
like most sports drinks.
In
2004, Ratliff – the Portland Trail Blazers’ center and 2001
NBA ALL-STAR, entered into a 10-year contract with Youngevity introducing
and promoting Rebound fx ™.
