UK "Urges" Obese to Be "Personally Responsible For Their Weight"
A UK Government forecast predicted that almost one third of the British population will be dangerously overweight, with junk food and lack of exercise to blame, The Independent reported.
Officials from the Department of Health are urging adults to take "personal responsibility" for their weight, which is a move that is in stark contrast with recent suggestions that the food industry was behind the obesity epidemic and should exercise "corporate social responsibility"—virtually absolving consumers of accountability. Recently, US pediatrician Robert Lustig, MD, from the University of California, San Francisco said that the "toxic environment" of western diets causes hormonal imbalances that encourage overeating. The comments were heavily publicized by many consumer news services.
"Tackling obesity is a government-wide priority," the Department of Health spokesman told The Independent. "But every individual has responsibility for their own health."

Week's Conference Call
Conference Calls Schedule
First, we would like to thank Dr. Corey Gold for joining us on last week’s call! Dr. Gold discussed the ProJoba™ line of products further with us, by answering any remaining questions we still had about the products. The more information we can take away from the conference calls, webinars, and trainings, the more easily we can use the knowledge for our business building! Dr. Gold is always a wonderful guest to have on our calls, as he is an expert in network marketing and product training, and can always provide us with great pointers!
Join in on the call tonight as we bring on Steve Wallach! Steve has exciting news regarding the launch of DrinkACT and the entire expanding product line. Youngevity® and A.C.T.™ have been diligently working together over the past few months to prepare an outstanding launch that will offer a new opportunity for success to all distributors. Be sure to dial in and hear everything A.C.T., including information on the products and system, and how it can work for you and your business!
Please join us this and every Thursday night at 5:00 PM Pacific, followed by The Leadership Training Call with Sandy Elsberg at 5:30 PM Pacific. Dial (303) 664-6005, ID number 801-6610. Help reduce background noise, and please remember: *6 to mute, *7 to un-mute.
Sponsoring ABCs . . .
When was the last time you sponsored a new person who you knew would set the world on fire, only to be disappointed by their lack of performance? Most new people in the business are nervous and can easily be frustrated if there isn't constant contact from the sponsor and/or leader. You can increase the odds for success with your new recruit if you remember your Sponsoring ABCs . . .
A - Ask the new person about his or her goal. What is their reason for joining? What is their short-term goal (something they would like to purchase in next 90 days)? What are their long-term goals and objectives? Realize, this could be the first time the new recruit has really been asked to clearly define what he or she wants. Take time with your new members and really help them set goals and create an action plan.
B - Begin right away with training your newly sponsored person. Make sure he or she has training materials and information to begin their business in the next week to ten days. If there is going to be a meeting or show, make sure it is within 10 days so the new recruit can begin to earn money right away. This would be a great time to train them on how to earn the QuickStart Bonus. The sooner a new recruit begins to have cash flow, the easier it is for you to retain him or her. Have the new recruit attend at least 2 meetings with you or another leader. The best way to train a new person is with "hands on experience" and it is one of the elements I see lacking in several programs. There is a saying, "monkey see...monkey do." When you have a new person with you at your party, I guarantee you will do a great presentation without leaving anything out (check up on yourself by having your newly sponsored person give you a grade for your presentation).
C - Constant contact is a must for your new recruit. You cannot afford to go more than a few days without some form of contact (phone call or in person - no e-mail). Why do I recommend no e-mails? It's quite simple...you need to hear the person's voice and/or see their face in order to find out if he or she is getting discouraged. Often a person will sound OK in their e-mail and you find out a few days later that he or she was really discouraged and ready to quit. Remember, your new recruit is just like a brand new baby. I don't know too many people that would leave a new baby alone, especially during the first 6 weeks. Don't leave your new person alone for too long. Maintain constant contact. If you apply the above principals to every new recruit you bring into the business, you will not only see their business grow, but yours as well.
As Zig Ziglar always says, "you can get everything in life you want when you help enough other people get what they want!"
