GliSODin (SOD) May Protect Against Severe Oxidative Stress (Free Radical Damage)

Researchers at the University of ULM in Germany have received encouraging results from a study into the potential for GliSODin supplementation to protect against Oxidative DNA Damage. Distributed in the United States, GliSODin is promoted as a supplement to boost the internal antioxidant defense system of humans. It contains Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), an enzyme contained in every cell of the body that is thought to protect against Oxidative Damage (Free Radical Damage).

The results from a double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial in September 2004, which were published in the journal Free Radical Research, showed that GliSODin protects against induced Oxidative Damage within just two weeks of supplementation.

“These results led the researchers to investigate whether GliSODin is also protective when enduring more severe Oxidative Stress, as induced ischemia~reperfusion,” according to Eric Anderson of PL Thomas, the Patent and Trademark Holders of GliSODin. He added, “This study is very powerful in that a protective benefit was demonstrated in severe circumstances.”
