Cocoa Polyphenols Support Healthy Blood Sugar Levels According to New Study
Dietary Supplementation with Cacao (Cocoa) reduced blood glucose levels in obese diabetic mice, may support and promote Healthy Blood Sugar levels and offer other significant benefits for Humans, according to a new study from Japan.
"Dietary Supplementation with CLP (Cacao Proanthocyanidins) can dependently prevent the development of hyperglycemia in diabetic obese mice," wrote lead author Makoto Tomaru in the Journal of Nutrition. "The dietary intake of food or drinks produced from Cocoa Beans might be beneficial in preventing the onset of type -2 mellitus."
The potential health benefits of cocoa have been gaining increased interest, with studies reporting that flavonoid - rich Dark Chocolate may reduce the risk of Cardiovascular disease. However, according to Tomaru and co-workers, this is the first study to report that CLP (Cocoa) may prevent aggravation of type - 2 diabetes mellitus.

Week's Conference Call
Conference Calls Schedule
Many thanks to last week's conference call guests, Michelle Wallach, Vanessa Hunter, Debra Flanders, Brandi Brogdon, Theresa Lovell, Martina Hartigan and Barbara Lukehart!
The women were on the call to discuss Youngevity'sŪ new Mineral Makeup Collection™ and the two events that helped launch it: Girl's Night Out and the Mineral Makeup Training Session! Brandi and Debra used this weekend in California as a time for goal-setting. Having never been to California, Brandi reveled in the San Diego beaches and set two goals for herself: to bring her children to California so they can enjoy the beaches and mountains, and to boost her business to the level where she can afford a brand new Toyota SJ Cruiser!
After enjoying Girl's Night Out, Brandi and Debra had just as much fun at the Mineral Makeup Session, Brandi was chosen to be a model for the morning because she already had a Mineral Makeup Meeting scheduled and wanted to learn all about how to apply it properly! On their flight home, the ladies became recruiting machines, using their Mineral Makeovers as selling tools for the flight attendants and passengers on the plane!
Theresa Lovell shared her excitement over the whole event, more specifically though, the large gift bouquet that she won as a door prize! Theresa noted that the Training Session truly helped her understand how to get the most from her Mineral Makeup Collection™ kit. In the past, she was skipping one of the most important steps - the Nu C™! She also mentioned that before the event she was using the wrong colors of foundation for her skin tone! Having had such a fantastic time at the events, Theresa and Martina Hartigan are now planning their own training session the first week of April!
Barbara Lukehart expressed her joy at being able to mingle and network at Girl's Night Out! Barbara was also using the wrong colors of foundation, and with Michelle's help at the training session, learned she was Beautiful and Sensual (2 & 3) in skin tone, not Gorgeous and Fabulous (4 & 5) as she had assumed. Barbara has already hosted her own mineral makeup party and found that when women are shown the entire process, they really enjoy reaping the benefits of the kit!
Tonight, Dr. Wallach will be on the call to discuss and answer questions about Youngevity'sŪ newest and hottest supplement - COCOGEVITY™!
Be sure to join us this and every Thursday evening at 5:00 PM Pacific, followed by The Leadership Training Call with Sandy Elsberg at 6:00 PM Pacific. Dial (303) 664-6005, ID number 801-6610. Help reduce background noise, please remember: *6 to mute, *7 to un-mute.
Making Meetings Fun
When the average person is asked to attend another meeting during their busy day, the natural response is to run like the wind or at least fake a "scheduling conflict." It's hard to imagine meetings being considered "fun." But injecting a little fun into your meetings might be just the right thing to encourage participation and creativity. No one will be required to recite knock-knock jokes, wear silly costumes or balance a spoon on their nose, but a little laughter can go a long way towards improving productivity and your associate's morale.
Try a few of these ideas:
Most people learn by "doing". Whenever possible, include hands-on activities, live demonstrations, field trips, games, role-playing, etc. Don't be afraid to mix it up - variety is what keeps people interested.
Bribery works! Organize contests to generate ideas and offer prizes to encourage participation. A little friendly competition can bring great results.
If your meetings tend to be dominated by a few people, try passing out five pennies to each meeting attendee. Attendees must "spend" a penny each time they talk. And no borrowing allowed!
Consider appointing a "Director of Fun" for meetings. The Director will be responsible for dreaming up participatory activities, bringing in additional fun materials (videos, comic strips, articles, snacks) that relate to the meeting topic. A different Director could be appointed for each meeting.
For a fun change of pace, consider hosting a meeting in talk-show style. Have the speakers act as guests, attendees are audience members and the meeting facilitator can be the talk show host. The host will encourage the audience to ask questions and share their opinions on the speakers' comments.
It's important to always provide attendees with an initial caveat that they're free to decide to what extent they wish to participate. Some attendees will warm up more slowly to an unconventional meeting style than others. People will participate when they're comfortable and relaxed.
Remember, laughter stimulates blood flow, strengthens the immune system, reduces levels of hormones that create stress, and reduces pain perception.
Happy Meetings!
