Researchers to Delve into Broccoli's Anti-Cancer Effects

Researchers at the University of Virginia are starting a new project, funded by the National Cancer Institute, to unlock the secrets behind broccoli's potential Anti-Cancer benefits.

The cancer-fighting properties of broccoli, a member of the cruciferous family of vegetables, are not new and previous studies have related these benefits to the high levels of active plant phyto-nutrients called glucosinolates. These are metabolized by the body into isothiocynates, and evidence suggests these are powerful anti-carcinogens. The main isothiocynate from broccoli is sulphoraphane.

This Week's Conference Call

Conference Calls Schedule

Many thanks to last week's featured conference call speaker, Dr. Kyl Smith. A noted researcher, inventor, lecturer, and scientist, Dr. Kyl joined the call to discuss good brain health at any and every age, share elements from his new book, Brighter Mind, as well as express excitement for his upcoming Brighter Mind Fall Tour!

Having received the James Linds Scientific Achievement Award for his contributions to brain health and cognitive development with Focus Factor, a dietary supplement that supports the strengthening of focus, memory and concentration, Dr. Kyl is now hitting the road to talk about brain health and his new book Brighter Mind. Dr. Kyl stressed the importance of the brain and how brain function deteriorates three decades before a person is diagnosed with any degree of dementia. He emphasized that in his studies, science has shown that you can combat brain regression and with just 10 minutes of exercise a day, growth hormones in the brain can be dramatically improved. The Brighter Mind tour dates can be found on the Youngevity® website under "Upcoming Events".

Tonight Sue Brinkley will join the call to talk about her business approach as well as share her personal thoughts on "you are what you sell".

Be sure to join us this and every Thursday evening at 5:00 PM Pacific, followed by The Leadership Training Call with Sandy Elsberg at 6:00 PM Pacific.
