Fruit and Vegetables May Reduce Heart Disease Risk

According to yet another new study, every extra serving of fruit or vegetables consumed daily could cut the risk of Heart Disease by four percent or more, reports a recent "meta-analysis" of almost 250,000 people, giving people even more reason to seek out the nutrient-rich foods.

The “Five a Day” message is well known, however its application does not seem to be filtering down into everyday life. Indeed, recent studies have shown that the average consumption for people in developed countries is three portions a day.

The meta-analysis by scientists from Frances's INSERM in Paris, Lille's Pasteur Institute, and Rouen's Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, pooled nine cohort studies giving an overall study population of 91,379 men, 129,701 women and 5,007 coronary Heart Disease events.

"This meta-analysis of cohort studies shows that fruit and vegetable consumption is inversely associated with the risk of CHD (Coronary Heart Disease)", concluded the researchers.

This Week's Conference Call

Conference Calls Schedule

Last week’s Conference Call featured the first Youngevity® founders, who joined the call to share their journey to achieving Founder status, along with Triple Diamond Todd Smith who discussed the benefits associated with being a Youngevity® Founder!

Todd used the exciting buzz from the introduction of Youngevity’s® newest product, Slender Fx™, to help build his business. He found that the Buy-3 Get 1 Free promotion offered a unique approach for recruiting new people, as the product truly is one that speaks for itself, and presents results that everyone can see! Todd emphasized that Youngevity® is giving its distributors a one-time opportunity with benefits that will last a lifetime!

Kimberly Ryan of Fort Myers Fitness was the first new founder to explain her process for the road to success. Kimberly used Slender Fx™ and Fort Myers Fitness together to promote getting trim and healthy. Kimberly also spoke about having a supportive upline, hers being Bernie Owens, to rely upon for support and guidance. Fort Myers Fitness also held themed meetings with Joanne Conaway and Ken Cole which helped educate new people on the business and products.

Chris Scruby explained that Portobello Natural Health’s path to Founder included utilizing the solid foundation of Youngevity® as a selling point to new recruits, in addition to talking to people to find out more about their health and interests. The distribution of product samples gave Portobello Natural Health the biggest boost, as they let the benefits of the products speak for themselves!

Daniel Young distributes Dr.Wallach’s dvds and cds to new people, allowing the information to become his business and product pitch. Daniel also utilizes business cards, as he feels that getting his information to people will help keep him in constant communication with the people he meets. Daniel also stressed that home meetings are a powerful way to recruit in a comfortable environment. This once shy individual has become a dynamo distributor!

Tonight's call will feature Diamond leader and professional motorcross competitor, David Demangos, along with his wife Gina. They will join the call to offer insight into their personal successes in building their business as well as how to encourage your downline to build their business and stay motivated!

Be sure to join us this and every Thursday evening at 5:00 PM Pacific, followed by The Leadership Training Call with Sandy Elsberg at 6:00 PM Pacific.

Expanding Your Downline

Here are some tips that may help you expand your downline:
  1. Send a personal welcome to each of your new downline members. Let them know where to find training tools and make yourself available to help them get started on the right path.

  2. Make sure each individual understands the program they've signed up for. You can't effectively sell what you don't know about. Explain what they may be uncertain about.

  3. Show them the benefits of being a part of your team. Give them your contact email address - let them know their sponsor is a real person - like them.

  4. Teach them to duplicate what you've done. The big ssh ssh secret in marketing and downline building is not how many people you can recruit - it is how well you can motivate your team to duplicate your efforts. Bottom line - you will never be successful if your team isn't.

  5. Make them feel wanted. Share your recruitment "secrets". Create a chain effect by having them pass that information onto their downline. Keep them motivated by sharing info on e-books, resources or tips that you've found to be successful. Ask for their ideas for making the team stronger. If you have a website, provide a discussion board or blog so your downline can meet, share tips, and even brain-storm.

Remember - everyone is not the same. You may have a member in your team who may not be as successful in recruiting and training as the others. Do not let them fail! Spend the extra time with them. Your hard work will be reflected in your commission check(s). That particular member might be going through a rough time at the moment.

If you are not good at following up or contacting people, there are many systems on the market that will provide this service. Each individual is different - you may not be very adept at public speaking or keeping in contact with your downline. If you are such a person, try to find a system that can easily automate these tasks for you or share the workload with others who have these strengths. The key to a great team is maximizing the strengths of each member.

Always treat your downline members as your business partners. That's what they really are. For your partnership to be successful, you need to build a personal relationship with them. Let them know you can be contacted for advice on any aspect of the business. You are only as good as your team. Your success is dependent on the team's effort.
