Curcumin Could Block Colorectal Cancer Hormone

Curcumin has been found to block activity of a hormone implicated in the development of colorectal cancer - results which contribute to a growing body of evidence pointing to the spice's cancer-fighting potential.

Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) worked with Curcumin, the yellow pigment found in the curry spice turmeric, and cell cultures to link a gastrointestinal hormone to the production of an inflammatory protein that accelerates the growth of a variety of cancer cells.

"We found that in colon cancer cells, neurotensin increases not just the rate of growth but also other critical things, including cell migration and metastasis. The fact that all that can be turned off by this natural product, curcumin, was really remarkable," said Mark Evers, the Director of UTMB's Sealy Center for Cancer Cell Biology.

This Week's Conference Call

Conference Calls Schedule

Last week's Conference Call featured Double Diamond Michael Zwerling. He joined the call to discuss his experiences in radio broadcasting and offered tips for utilizing communication mediums to build your business.

Michael began the call explaining that the foundation of your business should be in place before branching out into broadcasting. Though once your business model is established, he encourages distributors to brainstorm ways to grow their business as well as market to untapped resources via radio. Michael suggests using Dr.Wallach's Dead Doctors Don't Lie radio program, which can be accessed via a podcast stream at www.ksco.com, as a powerful and easy recruitment tool. Michael also used Bernie Owens's business-building accomplishments as a radio host as an example of skyrocketing to success through the power of talk radio. Michael emphasized strongly that radio is a giant net that can be cast out for customers and business builders, though he stressed that having a routine and approaching your audience from a real and genuine standpoint is the true key to attracting prospects through radio broadcasting.

Tonight's call will feature the first Youngevity founders along with Triple Diamond, Todd Smith discussing the benefits associated with being a Youngevity Founder! This is a call not to be missed!

Be sure to join us this and every Thursday evening at 5:00 PM Pacific, followed by The Leadership Training Call with Sandy Elsberg at 6:00 PM Pacific.

Golden Rule of Communication

So, you've joined The Youngevity Team, and you've even got a few members in your downline. Now what? How do you keep your new distributors interested and motivated? Whether you have realized it or not, you have now taken on the roll of manager for your downline. The Associates below you will need your motivation, guidance and assistance if they are to make money for themselves. The biggest mistake you can probably make is to think that once you've got your sign-up, the hard work is over. As any experienced marketer will tell you, a sign-up commission is fine, but the real money is made when your Associates start recruiting, and the residual bonuses start pouring in. Therefore, when you've recruited someone into your organization, the work has only just begun.

One problem you will find is that people join your business, and then do nothing. It is surprising, but a great deal of your downline will probably remain inactive. So, why do these people join? Well, there can be many reasons. Some people join this business out of curiosity, others to start their own business, whilst others may not know why they have joined! Therefore, it's up to you to motivate your recruits into action. Now, this is not necessarily as difficult as it may seem, provided that you remember the golden rule: Communication!

There is nothing worse than joining a new program and being left to it with no advice or help from anyone. So, it is important to start off on the right foot, by communicating with your new members from the outset and keep it going.

Here are a few ways that you can achieve this:

Send a welcoming letter to all new Associates.
If someone has joined your organization, thank them for doing so. Let them feel welcome and a part of your team. Make sure that they are fully aware of how the program works, and offer help and advice if they need it.

Answer all inquiries quickly.
If somebody does ask for help, don't ignore them, or it may be the last you'll hear from them. Even if you don't know the answer immediately, a quick note back to say, "I don't know, but I'll find out", will be much appreciated. But, do remember to get back to them as soon as you can.

Don't get frustrated with basic questions.
Keep in mind that what appears to be a basic question to you, may not be to somebody new to the business. Just remember, if they are contacting you, then at least they are they are communicating with you.

Use the "Email Message Center" in Home Office.
Email your people often. Tell them the latest news on your program or give them hints and tips. If you haven't got much to say, then tell them a joke, tell them anything. Just remind them you are there.

Don't be afraid to repeat yourself.
It's always a good idea to save some of your messages, and repeat them periodically. Remember that your more recent recruits won't have seen your earlier messages, and it never does any harm for your long-time downline members to re-read an earlier email. Conventional wisdom states that a person needs to hear a message seven times before they will buy into it.

Communication is the secret to managing your downline. Like all businesses, its most valuable resource is the people who work for it. Therefore, since people like to talk, talk to them!
