Obesity Rising at Alarming Rate in China
China has a huge potential as a market for healthy foods if the government increases its attention to the mounting obesity problem, according to the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
"Although the prevalence of obesity in China is relatively low compared with Western Countries such as the United States, where over half of adults are either overweight or obese, it is the rapid increase of the condition, especially among children, that is particularly alarming," writes Yangfeng Wu, a Professor at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and responsible for the Country's obesity control program.

Got Spyware?
It is estimated that over 91% of all computers that have internet access are infected with Adware and/or Spyware programs. So the chances of your PC being infected are quite high. Your PC may be infected if you have ever downloaded screen savers, music, games, video clips, images, and even those "smiley face" icons that have been going around the past few months. Advertisers/Hackers offer these screen savers, music, games, etc. for free in order to legally "trick" consumers into installing their AdWare and SpyWare programs.
Here are just a few of the warning signs you should be aware of. if any of the following pertain to you, then your PC is most likely infected:
- When you start your browser, the home page has mysteriously changed. You change it back manually, but before long it has changed back again.
- Your system runs noticeably slower than it did before.
- You get pop-up advertisements when your system is not connected to the internet, or pop-up ads that address you by name.
- A new item appears in your favorites list without your putting it there. You delete it and it reappears later.
- The send or receive lights on your dial-up or broadband modem blink as if you're downloading a file or surfing the web when you aren't doing either.
- A search toolbar or other browser toolbar appears even though you didn't request or install it.
- And the final sign: Everything appears to be normal. The most devious spyware doesn't leave traces you'd notice, so scan your system anyway.
There are several Anti-virus or Anti-spyware programs available on the market today. Many of these programs are very inexpensive and in some cases free to download. Whichever program you decide on will probably work just fine for you, but you may want to do a little research first to make sure it is a good fit for your system. Once you decide on one, be sure to scan your system on a regular basis or turn on the auto-scan feature if available, to prevent or detect re-infections!
