Flavanol-Rich Chocolate Could Improve Skin From Within

Cocoa beverages and food rich in flavanols could thicken skin and reduce reddening by 25 percent, say German scientists.

Growing awareness of the link between diet and health, and by extension, physical appearance, means that many consumers are receptive to the concept of "beauty from within". The new research from Germany that links skin health to cocoa flavanols could well be readily accepted by the female-dominated consumer base. The same Datamonitor report said that 63.7 percent of women over the age of 50 are prepared to spend more on Cosmeceuticals.

"This study demonstrates that the regular consumption of a beverage rich in flavanols can confer substantial photoprotection as well as help maintain skin health by improving skin structure and function," wrote the researchers in the new issue of the Journal of Nutrition (Vol 136, pp 1565-1569).

This Week's Conference Call

Many thanks to last week's featured Conference Call speaker, Michael Zwerling. With a strong background in news and talk radio, Michael spoke from personal experience about the traditional radio-broadcasting model and then segued into how he integrated network marketing into his approach, creating a successful and innovative broadcasting outlet for nutrition and supplement editorials and news. Furthermore, Michael spoke about how he believes educating and empowering the public with information through talk radio is good for business and good health. Through the entertainment medium, people can make the choice to tune in to hear about the importance of supplements and possible ways to improve their health. With the latest announcements and developments from Youngevity®, now is the time to get vocal…you never know who is going to listen and want to get involved!

Also thanks to Double Diamond Peggy Lapsley. With the Nashville on Fire! event literally around the corner (June 22nd through 24th in Nashville, TN), Peggy joined the call to elaborate on the lectures, seminars and expected guest speakers.

Peggy explained how powerful events can be in that they offer information and new approaches to apply to your business, as well as the benefit of networking with associates with the same goals, ultimately broadening your circle of business contacts. Peggy also suggested bringing a new person to each meeting you attend; as well as emphasizing to your current downline that meetings are the lifeblood of your business and should be taken seriously!

Nashville on Fire! presents another great opportunity to attend insightful seminars and lectures with industry experts and leaders. Guest Speakers include: Doctor Joel Wallach, author of ‘Dead Doctors Don’t Lie’ • Doug Firebaugh of PassionFire International • Sandy Elsberg, author of ‘Bread Winner Bread Baker’ • Triple Diamond Todd Smith • Rich Stocks, creator of the '1st Step Training' kit • Richard Renton aka “Dr. Dirt” • Several other highly successful Youngevity leaders!

This evening, network marketing expert trainer, speaker and author, Doug Firebaugh will be joining the call. Personalized Customer Service

Personalized customer service sets you apart from all the others and leads to long-term, profitable relationships with your customers. Set a goal to make 2 customer service calls a day and watch your business explode!

Here are just a few reasons to call your previous customers and hostess. Start making those calls today!

  • To assure satisfaction with their product or service
  • To introduce a new item from your line
  • To introduce a seasonal type product like our sunscreen or after sun gel
  • To introduce a new company program or special such as the Founders Club
  • To generate reorders or get them on the AutoShip plan
  • To suggest they host a home party or meeting, with your help of course!
  • To explore sponsoring possibilities
  • To ask for referrals
  • To invite them to a local event

Phone Tips:

  • Put yourself in a positive frame of mind before you make the call so you can transfer your enthusiasm to them.

  • The first fifteen seconds set the tone for your entire call. Your most effective introduction is one with professionalism and enthusiasm!

  • Start off right. "Is this a good time for you?" or "Have I caught you at a good time?" will show respect for their time and privacy.

  • Have a purpose for your call (see the list above for ideas) and communicate it right away.

  • Everyone wants to feel special, so always personalize your call with a genuine compliment or a warm comment.

  • Be enthusiastic and confident! You're offering an exciting opportunity to host a meeting or be a distributor and it's only fair that they have a chance to hear about it!

  • Have a bulleted script in front of you to keep you on track during the call but be sure to not read it verbatim. The more calls you make, the more comfortable you will feel and the more natural you will come across.

  • Never hang up without following up on your intention. People respect and want to do business with those who are purposeful and professional.
